About 2013 Jaguar XJ
The Jaguar XJ enters 2013 with a fourth choice in its range of engines, its first-ever all-wheel drive system and a new, limited-production XJL Ultimate model.
In all 2013 Jaguar XJ models, a new ZF eight-speed automatic transmission replaces the former six-speed, enhancing performance and efficiency, and all engines receive a new Intelligent Stop/Start system for improved fuel economy.
A new 340-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine becomes the standard engine in the XJ standard-wheelbase model. The new V6 can be paired with the first-ever all-wheel drive system. An active torque-management system, Jaguar Instinctive All-Wheel Drive offers a performance-oriented rear-drive bias and can shift power to the front wheels to either pre-empt or counter wheel slip.
The XJ model line for 2013 includes standard and long-wheelbase (XJL) versions, which offers 44.1 inches of rear seat legroom, 5.2 inches more than in the standard-wheelbase model.
The interior of the XJ is the most luxurious offered in a Jaguar, blending infotainment technology with a wide choice of leather and wood finishes. Even with a very high level of luxury, the Jaguar XJ remains very much an agile and spirited driver's car, thanks to lightweight aluminum construction, sophisticated suspension technology and standard 19- or 20-inch wheels.
In addition to the new supercharged V6, the 2013 Jaguar XJ line continues with the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 with 385-hp (long wheel base model only), a 470-hp supercharged version in the XJ Supercharged and a 510-hp supercharged variant in the limited-production XJ Supersport and Ultimate models.
